You weren’t just a four-legged wagger who greeted us at the door.
You came with us wherever we went.
Disney World, Marineland, museums and camp.
You weren’t just a soft place to rest our hand.
You comforted and soothed.
A supportive presence
At emerg, doctor’s offices, appointments galore.
You weren’t just a calm, easygoing mutt.
You were dutiful and patient. Tolerant of so much.
Pokes to the eyes. Pinches, pulls and yanks. Kids crawling all over you.
Loyal and loving, protective and friendly.
You weren’t just a dog.
You were the best dog.
And you will be missed.
RIP Bentley
